Text-to-Speech
Prompt Item
Test-to-Speech (TTS) prompt items are just text. These text are
automatically converted to voice using a text-to-speech engine.
TTS prompt items are usually dynamic information that cannot be
pre-recorded. For example, a caller's name from caller ID.
TTS Engine
The software used to convert text to voice is called a
Text-to-Speech (TTS) engine. Voicent Gateway contains a free TTS
engine from Microsoft. However, since the Microsoft TTS engine is
created a while back, the generated voice is not easy to
understand. For production usage,
Voicent Natural
Text-to-Speech engine is strongly recommended.
