IVR Studio
Overview
IVR - short for Interactive Voice Response -
automates interactions with telephone callers. Most people are
familiar with IVR applications. These applications allow callers
to retrieve information such as bank balances, flight schedules,
and movie show times from any telephone.
IVR Studio Component
Voicent IVR Studio consists of two components: IVR Studio GUI
(graphical user interface) and Voicent Gateway. The GUI component,
as shown below, is what you see when running IVR Studio.
Voicent Gateway is the component that actually answers and makes
phone calls. Once an IVR application design is completed and
validated, it is deployed to Voicent Gateway. (For paid editions
of IVR Studio, an inbound gateway license is included) For
outbound IVR application, you must have Voicent BroadcastByPhone
Autodialer. Although it is a
separate product, it is fully integrated with IVR Studio.
Inbound IVR and
Outbound IVR IVR applications are categorized as
inbound IVR and outbound IVR applications. An inbound IVR
application answers calls initiated from customers, while an
outbound IVR application makes calls to customers. Many IVR
systems only support inbound IVR application. Voicent IVR Studio is a complete IVR solution for both
inbound and outbound IVR applications. The support of outbound IVR
applications is accomplished through Voicent BroadcastByPhone
Autodialer.
