Registered Jack - 45

Registered Jack-45 is a connector used normally to connect computers onto a local-area networks (LAN), especially Ethernets cables and networks. RJ-45 connectors look similar to the ubiquitous RJ-11 connectors used for connecting telephone equipment, but they are somewhat wider. Each RJ45 connector has eight pins, which means an RJ45 cable contains eight separate wires. Looking closely at the end of an Ethernet cable, the eight wires are clearly visible with each having a different color. Four of them are solid colors, while the other four are striped. Standard RJ-45 pinouts define the arrangement of the individual wires needed when attaching connectors to a cable.
